THREE SETTINGS. YOUR KIND OF HOLIDAY.

Where to stay
in Saint Lucia.

A villa is more than its pool and bedroom count. Start with the places you want to spend your days, then choose a base that makes those days easier.

Saint Lucia Villas editorial guide · Updated 16 September 2026

Find your starting point.

These are planning suggestions, not a ranking. The right choice depends on your exact property, transport plans and the people travelling with you.

Three areas to consider for a villa holiday
AreaConsider it forCheck before booking
Rodney Bay & Gros IsletA northern base with beach, dining and outing choices.Exact location, walkability and evening noise.
Marigot BayA holiday centred on a sheltered west-coast bay.Road or boat access, steps and grocery arrangements.
Soufrière & the PitonsA southwest base for scenery and nearby excursions. The advertised view, access road and excursion transport.
01 / THE NORTH

Rodney Bay & Gros Islet

If your idea of a holiday involves a beach bag by the door and several possibilities for dinner, start in the north. Rodney Bay and neighbouring Gros Islet give you plenty to dip into, with no need to fill every hour.

02 / THE WEST COAST

Marigot Bay

Marigot Bay suits the kind of holiday where watching boats counts as a perfectly good plan. Green hills fold around the harbour, and the pleasure is often in staying put long enough to notice the view change.

03 / THE SOUTHWEST

Soufrière & the Pitons

Around Soufrière, the landscape does much of the talking. The Pitons rise above the coast, green slopes frame the town, and a good day can be as simple as one outing followed by a long, unhurried afternoon.

Plan around your real itinerary

Write down the two or three outings that matter most. Check where they start and ask your host for realistic journey advice from the villa. A property can be perfect for one itinerary and inconvenient for another, even when both holidays are on the same island.

If your plans are spread between the north and southwest, compare a single base with a split stay. Moving means packing, another check-in and extra transport; staying put may mean longer outings. Make that trade-off before committing to non-refundable accommodation.

Give everyone a say

For a group holiday, agree the essentials before browsing. Someone may want to walk to dinner, another may prioritise a quiet terrace, and a family may need bedrooms close together. Keep “must have” separate from “nice to have”, then ask each provider the same questions.

Check whether the rental is an entire private property, whether the pool is exclusive to your group and whether other accommodation shares the grounds. Those distinctions can matter more than a headline bedroom count.

Compare the full holiday cost

Use a quote for your actual dates and guest count. Add transfers, groceries, cleaning charges and any services you expect to use. Confirm deposits and cancellation conditions before paying. An apparently cheaper rental may suit you less well once the practical costs are included.
